Brad Riddell will be the betting underdog when he steps inside the Octagon against Jalin Turner.

The no.14 ranked lightweight in the UFC opened at +150 odds at the best UFC betting sites against Turner who hit the odds boards as the -175 betting favorite.

Riddell and Turner are scheduled to meet at UFC 276 on July 2, 2022, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brad Riddell Suffers Spinning Wheel Kick Knockout Loss

Riddell saw a seven-fight winning streak end in his last fight. The 30-year-old from Christchurch, New Zealand suffered a third-round KO loss to Rafael Fiziev at UFC Vegas 44 last December 4, 2021. Prior to that defeat, Riddell had won seven consecutive fights, including his first four Octagon appearances.

A former Wollongong Wars Welterweight champion, Riddell also fought under Glory of Heroes and Hex Fight Series before joining the UFC in 2019. The no. 14 ranked lightweight in the promotion won Fight of the Night honors in his UFC debut against Jamie Mullarkey. He won a second fight bonus when he stunned Drew Dober at UFC 263 in June 2021. Overall, Riddell has a record of 10-2 with five knockouts.

This will be the fourth time in his last six bouts where Riddell has opened as the betting underdog in a UFC bout. Quake was the +125 bottom dog against Magomed Mustafaev at UFC Fight Night 168, a +128 when he fought Dober, and was the +122 bottom dog against Fiziev.

Meanwhile, Turner has won four straight bouts, all via stoppage and all inside two rounds. In his most recent Octagon appearance, the 27-year-old from San Bernardino, California sparked Jamie Mullarkey in the second round after a first-round firefight at UFC 272 last March 5, 2022.

Turner began his career fighting for promotions like World Series of Fighting, BAMMA, Bellator, Smash Global, KOTC, and Tachi Palace Fights. He joined the Contender Series in 2018 and recorded a TKO win over Max Mustaki to earn a UFC deal. After losing two out of his first three UFC bouts, Turner has won four in a row. Overall, he has a record of 12-5 with nine knockouts and three submission victories.

Known as the “Tarantula”, Turner saw the minus money sign written next to his name in five out of his first seven UFC bouts. He was upset as the -165 betting favorite when he fought Matt Frevola at UFC 236. His other UFC loss came as a heavy +550 bottom dog against Vicente Luque.
